Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) is a prestigious public university in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Nestled within the bustling heart of Baku, Azerbaijan, stands the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL), a beacon of language education and a cornerstone of the nation's cultural and intellectual landscape. Its roots stretch back to 1937, weaving a long and illustrious history into the very fabric of modern Azerbaijan.

In the aftermath of World War II, a burgeoning need for skilled foreign language experts led to the birth of the Baku Institute of Foreign Languages in 1948. This independent institution, built upon the foundation of the Azerbaijan Pedagogical Institute's Foreign Languages Faculty, flourished until 1973.

Recognizing the ever-increasing significance of language education in Azerbaijan's cultural and social development, the institute received official recognition in 1973 and transformed into the prestigious "Azerbaijan State Institute of Languages." This momentous leap marked a defining chapter in the institution's journey.

Following Azerbaijan's independence in 1991, the institute embarked on a new era of growth and transformation. In 1996, it donned the title "Azerbaijan State Institute of Languages," and in 2000, its stature reached new heights as it ascended to university status, earning its present name – Azerbaijan University of Languages.
