Azerbaijan State Economic University (UNEC) is a public university located in Baku, Azerbaijan. It is one of the biggest educational institutions of the South Caucasus.
Azerbaijan State Economic University (UNEC) was founded in 1930 as the Trade-Cooperative Institute. In 1933, it was renamed the Azerbaijan Social-Economic University named after Karl Marx. Over the years, its name has changed several times, and it has been merged and separated from Baku State University on several occasions.
In 1972, UNEC was granted university status and its name was changed to the Azerbaijan State Economic University. In the early 1990s, UNEC underwent a major restructuring and reform process. The university's curriculum was updated, new faculties and departments were established, and international cooperation programs were developed.
Today, UNEC is one of the leading universities in Azerbaijan and the region. It offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs in economics, business, and management. UNEC is also a major center for research and development in economics and business.
