Azerbaijan State Agricultural University, also referred to as the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University is a public university located in Ganja, Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ASAU) has a rich history that mirrors the evolution of agricultural education in Azerbaijan. Its roots stretch back to 1920, when the Faculty of Agriculture was established within Baku Polytechnic Institute. Following the formation of the Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic (SSR), the faculty was reorganized into the Azerbaijan Agricultural University in 1923. In 1929, the university experienced a split, giving rise to three independent institutions: the Azerbaijan Oil Institute, the Azerbaijan Institute of Economics, and the Azerbaijan Agricultural Institute.
The Azerbaijan Agricultural Institute continued to flourish in the subsequent decades, expanding its scope through new departments and programs. It was relocated to its current campus in Ganja, Azerbaijan's second-largest city, in 1934. Upon Azerbaijan's independence from the Soviet Union in 1991, the institute assumed its current name, Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ASAU).
ASAU's contributions to Azerbaijan's agricultural sector have been profound. The university's graduates are highly sought after by employers in the agricultural field, both within Azerbaijan and internationally. Moreover, ASAU's research endeavors have yielded positive transformations in agricultural practices within the nation.
