The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is a public research university located in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

The history of the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) can be traced back to the 1870s, when a number of technical colleges were established in Sydney to provide training for the city's growing workforce. In 1940, the NSW Parliament passed an Act to establish an Institute of Technology, but World War II intervened and it was not until 1964 that the New South Wales Institute of Technology (NSWIT) was finally established.

NSWIT was a success from the start, and it quickly became a leading provider of technical and vocational education in Australia. In 1988, NSWIT was granted university status and became the University of Technology Sydney.

UTS has continued to grow and develop since its inception. In 1990, it merged with the Institute of Technical and Adult Teacher Education and the Kuring-gai College of Advanced Education to form the current university. UTS has also expanded its campus infrastructure significantly in recent years, with new buildings opening in 2014, 2015, and 2019.

UTS is a relatively young university, but it has a rich history and a strong reputation for academic excellence and industry relevance. It is a great choice for students who are looking for a high-quality education that will prepare them for a successful career.
